Kathy joined the USTA as the Manager of Technical Services in August 2018 with a 16 yr background in software design. She is particularly focused on the User’s eXperience (UX) and the ease in which software is adopted by consumers. Her mantra has always been “If it ain’t easy, they won’t use it.” Her dedication to how the User Interface contributes to the UX gives her the necessary perspective to review and train on software enhancements as they are being released in the USTA’s Serve Tennis digital
Kathy is originally from the Mid-Atlantic area, having been born and raised in Maryland and graduating from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Systems Management. She was with the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade MD for more than 13 years until she and her family moved to VA and later West Virginia. Her position with the USTA relocated her to Orlando, Florida. She is the mother of 3 grown daughters, loves to travel and has had a menagerie of animals when she had her West Virginia farm.
Kathy plays USTA and non-USTA league tennis and can be found on USTA tournament draws monthly. If she’s not playing tennis, you will likely find her on a nearby Florida beach.
