Joao Pinho is the Head Professional of 10U and High-Performance at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York. Pinho is a USPTA Master Professional and a former NCAA DI Coach and player. He’s specialized in developing competitive junior players and training coaches. As a private coach, he has developed seven National Champions, has worked with a WTA Tour player, and developed many players who have gone to play at the collegiate level and beyond. Since 2014, Pinho has presented in 17 different conferences and workshops across the country, including the 2015 and 2019 USPTA World Conference and the 2017 and 2018 PTR International Symposium. He is past President for USPTA Middle States, and is a Tester for both the Middle States and Eastern Divisions. During his tenure, the Middle States Division received its first USPTA Small Division of the Year Award of its history, in 2018. Over the past decade, Pinho has received the following USPTA honors: 2010 Middle States Rookie of the Year, 2014 Middle States U30 Pro of the Year, 2018 Eastern Metro District Volunteer of the Year, 2018 Middle States Norman Brammel Service Award, and 2015 & 2019 Middle States Pro of the Year.
